It is right at the city center and so easy to take the metros to go around. I would highly recommand my friends for this hotel for its convenience.
The hotel is pretty old. Has the sewer small.
Just 2 minutes walk from Nanjing Road Railway station and located close to the Bund and People's Square.
I feel they should provide Internet service free of charge instead of charging USD 4 per day for the same.
I like that the personal at the front desk speak English well. The hotel is very central, right on the middle of the action. Walk distance to the bund. Many places to eat Chinese food across the street. Starbucks is a 5 minutes walk distance. The hotel is clean and reasonable price. Subway is around the corner.
Nearly everything you want for traveller
The position is really good, just a few minutes (perheaps 2) from the Nanjing Road East subway station and 15 minutes walk from the Bund. Since Nanjing Road East is pedestrian, is also very quiet. The street it's located in (Shanxi Road South) is a little smelly, but that's because of the traditional restaurants on the opposite side of the road - yet their food was good.
The walls of the room needs to be painted.
Location is excellent - right by two metro stations. Worth it.
Staff is clearly unprepared and rude. They are not there to help you. Asked for wake-up calls twice; once, they did not call at all; the 2nd time, they called 2 hours late. Also, we had a problem with our room's door lock, and it took them 1 hour to make sure we could get in the room. Very poor English for a hotel of that type.
the location of the hotel was great.
It was an old hotel and relatively in a poor condition. Some of the staff's service was not good.
The location of the Nanjing Hotel can't be beat and the price is reasonable for Shanghai. They nickle and dime you a bit for internet (20 RMB extra per day), and the manager was not as friendly as I've experienced elsewhere in China, but maybe that was a city/Shanghai thing. Overall, I would stay here again simply for ease and location. It might help to write down the Chinese characters for the street address. Our taxi driver didn't know the hotel and it turns out there is another Shanxi Rd that intersects Nanjing Lu!
Somehow there was a mistake in the administration of our booking therefore, we keep on getting calls from elong that we will be charged on our credit card for the room, although we paid everything cash. Elong is acting quite rude and we still don't know whose fault it is Elong's or the hotel. Still not solved and I am afraid we gotta pay twice.
Location. Rooms were nice (although refrigerator would be better). Beds were comfortable
Should have separate smoking and non smoking floor as some people leave doors open so smoke travels down hall. Noise very loud from outside and also from service staff and other guests in early morning. Not possible to sleep in at all (stayed 6 nights). Would recommend hotel but not if you want to get rest.
Easy access to metro station and a few minutes walking to people square
There was no any kind of wireless Internet acess
Position right in the city center, very close to main tourist attractions, shops, metro stations. Convenient way to airports and railway stations.
Too small standard rooms.
Very convenient, close to East Nanjing Road Metro and just off of Nanjing Road pedestrian mall
As soon as you exit the hotel, there are adjacent shops selling a local delicacy which smells up the room. The mattress was also very hard and the receptionist is not very friendly.
Very good Location, Various food types and restaurant types very close and readily available. Friendly staff and adequate facilities.I Considered the hotel good value for money was we enjoyed our stay.
The hotel is looking a little tired and needs a small makeover. The bathrooms would also benefit from a small makeover and the carpets could use a shampoo as well. However, I was pleased to see the foot wiper drop- sheets go down in the foyer and on the front steps in rainy conditions.
Best location in Shanghai and useful staff
